Q1: Can I use this product with commercial nucleic acid extraction products?
Yes. The reagent is compatible with commercially available nucleic acid extraction kits and automated workflows. Please follow instructions for “DNA/RNA Extraction” in the provided protocol. We recommend the Quick-DNA/RNA™ Water Kit (R2044). However, can also be processed with other commercially available DNA and RNA purification kits from Qiagen, Promega, Revvity, etc.
Q2: Do I need to fill the entire bottle?
No. We recommend filling a minimum of 100 mL for optimal performance.
Q3: Can I use this product for water filters, activated sludge or wastewater solids?
We recommend storing water filters, activated sludge, and wastewater solids directly in DNA/RNA Shield (R1100-50).
